Throughout my life, across the many industries I’ve worked in, I noticed a recurring theme: women often struggled to find meaningful connections and support. Whether it was in boardrooms, creative spaces, or community events, the need for a space where women could genuinely connect, and grow was undeniable.
This realization became even clearer during the challenges of 2020. As the world shut down, so many women faced a new challenge of "The Loneliness Epidemic." Women were feeling isolated, disconnected, and unsupported. It was during this time that I decided to take action—to create a space where women could come together, share their experiences, and inspire each other.
What began as a small meeting of women, video calls and small gatherings in San Diego eventually grew into Pink Sesh, a vibrant community of women sharing connections and building lasting friendships. I moved to Michigan and years later, the mission of Pink Sesh had evolved, and I knew it was time for something bigger. Thus, PS Society, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, was born.
From Pink Sesh to PS Society
Pink Sesh was the foundation of learning how important connection for women is, but PS Society is the future. As I settled into Michigan, I recognized that the vision needed to grow beyond its original roots. PS Society was created to expand on the work of Pink Sesh and to address the loneliness epidemic on a larger scale. It is becoming a space where women of all ages, industries, and backgrounds can find connection, support, and opportunities for growth.
From the beginning, PS Society has been about more than just meeting up—it’s about building a community where women don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. Whether it’s personal healing, professional development, or simply finding friendships that feel like family, PS Society offers a place to belong.
Learning, Evolving and Committing to the Mission
In our first year of operation, we initially launched with a membership model, believing it would help foster deeper connection and commitment. But as time went on, we realized that the idea of "membership" wasn’t helping us address the loneliness epidemic. Instead of fostering inclusion, it inadvertently created barriers for some women who wanted to join but felt hesitant about the structure.
So, we made a bold decision: we eliminated the membership model. Now, PS Society is open to anyone who wants to participate. This doesn’t mean we’ve completely done away with ways to support our mission—we introduced an Insider Subscription Donation Model for women who believe in our vision and want to make an annual or monthly pledge. These contributions fund our programs, events, and initiatives, but participation in our community is now open to all. The heart of PS Society is connection, not exclusivity.
Our Mission: Combating Loneliness Through Connection
At PS Society, everything we do is rooted in our mission: to combat the loneliness epidemic by connecting women through community, growth, and service.
This mission drives every event we host, every program we create, and every conversation we have. Whether we’re organizing a book club, a retreat, a volunteer day, or a casual meet-up, our goal is to remind women that they are not alone.
We’re still learning and evolving. As a nonprofit, our first year has been filled with lessons—some expected, some surprising—but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to building a community where women feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.
A Vision for the Future
As we look ahead, I’m filled with excitement for what’s to come. We’ve already seen the impact of bringing women together, and I can’t wait to see how many more women we can empower in the years ahead. Our vision is to continue creating opportunities for leadership, personal development, and connection. We want women to know that they are worth having meaningful friendships and positive relationships—and that PS Society is here to help make that happen.
This is just the beginning of our journey, and we’re so grateful to have you with us. Whether you’re attending your first event, volunteering your time, or supporting us as an Insider, you’re part of a movement that’s changing lives. Together, we’re proving that connection is the cure for loneliness and that, as women, we are stronger together.
Let’s keep building, growing, and supporting one another. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us—and how many lives we can touch along the way.
