Empowerment Hacks: Catching the Future in the Folds of Time

It's almost the end of 2025 and our lives are intertwined with technology. As millenial, I can say, I am not surprised to see how far we have come. And when I think about some of the things we are able to acomplish because of technology, I get electrified at the vast amount of possibilities.

It is almost impossible to not correlate tech advancements to the concept of time.

The way we are traditionally taught about the time construct makes it seem measured and forward-only. But the older I get, and the more I lean into my creative, spiritual, and technological practices, the more I realize: time has ripples, folds, and curves. It's far from linear. I would even go as far as saying it's lyrical. And if you sit still long enough, or move fast enough in the right direction, you just might catch a glimmer of the future shimmering in the present.

Recently, I think I did just that. It happened while I was using ChatGPT, a tool I use often when ideating a creative concept. As I used it to help me come up with a strategy to learn a new concept, it shifted something inside me. I realized that the concept of 'intelligence' is being redefined right before our eyes. Even the concept of 'value' is taking up a new meaning as we evolve as a society. Don't look too far or overthink it. Take a look at the devices we are using to communicate. They allow us to hold the cloak of the future in our own hands.

The Factor That Changed Everything

I’ve come to see ChatGPT and other LLMs as master summarizers of conversations, books, reports, meetings, and even my own thoughts sometimes. At first, this unsettled me. I’ve spent years sharpening my summarizing muscle, bundling it under the umbrella of what I call "intelligence." But now, I’ve started letting go. Instead of doing the summarizing, I’ve become the director of it. I focus on what matters most: guiding the narrative, refining the message, and creating the soul of the work.

Would you agree to the thought that that’s the real intelligence of the future? As a society, we are moving away from hoarding knowledge, instead, we moving in the direction of learning how to allocate it. Evan Armstrong said it best: “AI is an abstraction layer over lower-level thinking.” And summarizing information, could possibly be considered a lower-level task. The real power is in the discernment of what’s worth summarizing, and what’s worth remembering.

From Knowledge Economy to Allocation Economy

Sis, we are witnessing the end of the knowledge economy in real time. The knowledge economy is the marketplace for the production and sale of scientific and engineering discoveries.

Historically, economic value was determined by what you knew, your capacity to acquire, retain, and apply information. Now, AI can do much of that faster and without burnout. So where does that leave us? In a new economy: the allocation economy. Here, your value lies in your ability to manage energy, tools, and attention. Not in your memory. Not in your technical know-how. But in your discernment, which can never be replaced by a bot.

Here come the controversial questions...Can you delegate well to AI? Can you edit AI outputs with taste and context? Can you know when to use AI and when to rely on your human skills?

Even entry-level roles are transforming. Junior employees are being asked to become model managers, not of people, but of AI models. This shift will demand emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and leadership skills we once reserved for C-suites.

We’re no longer just knowledge workers, we’re orchestrators of intelligence.

The Empowerment in All of This

This shift could sound scary for many reasons. But I choose to lean into my curiousity about it. Because empowerment isn’t about being the smartest person in the room. I feel like it’s about being the most aware. The most agile. The one who knows how to stretch across time and pull wisdom from the future. It’s about being a visionary in action, not theory.

I dare you to stop asking how to predict the future and start asking how to interact with it. Listen for the hum of change. And when you sense the shimmer, hold it. Then walk boldly into a new world of possibilities.
