Service Day: Volunteers of America Michigan - Operation Backpack

Join your PS Society community as we support Michigan students in need and help them get the tools to succeed this school year!

We’ll come together to sort and pack backpacks, write notes of encouragement, and support children as they head into a new school year. Operation Backpack® relies on the kindness of individuals like us to make the biggest impact possible. Your time and heart can help ensure students have their own supplies—and give struggling parents a much-needed sigh of relief.

📚 School supplies = learning. Pencils, notebooks, and backpacks help kids stay engaged and ready to learn.

🚫 Without them, kids fall behind. Missing essentials means missed assignments, lost confidence, and unnecessary stress.

😔 No supplies, no confidence. Students without the basics often feel embarrassed, ashamed, and unmotivated.

🎯 It’s about success. Supplying students with what they need helps level the playing field for every child.
